Put On A Smile

Conversation that took place between Hannah and me while she got dressed this morning.

Hannah: I want to wear my shorts.
Me: O.k., how about this shirt to go with them?
Hannah: Oh! O.k., and I have other pants that go with that shirt!
Me: O.k. Do you want to wear them?
Hannah: Yes.

So I pull the pants that go with the shirt out and she begins to put them on.

Hannah: These pants are so tute! When everyone sees me, they're going to put on a smile at me 'tause I'm so tute!

And I think she's probably right!!

This Is What Happens When...

...you are paranoid about germs in public places and you insist on lining the potty in public restrooms before your child sits on it.

Hannah lined our potty with wipes before she used it this evening...then she left them there and this is what I happened upon when I went to the restroom.

First Trip To The Beach

This weekend Hannah went on her first trip to the beach. The beaches in Texas are nasty so these aren't the prettiest pictures of the water, but Hannah enjoyed it. I think the seaweed stuff kind of creeped her out though.

Then she got dizzy when the water went back out towards the ocean and thought she was going backwards, but really it was the water going forward. Once she tried keeping her balance, but lost it and ended up just sitting down in the water.

We were really just driving by the beach, but decided to go ahead and stop so she could get out and look around. So she wasn't appropriately dressed for the beach. Which was nice when she actually sat in the water! I had hoped that we would have been able to get away from there without getting drenched, but apparently that's not possible! Oh well, she liked it.

She kept asking when we were going back to the beach. She's ready to go and spend the day. So I'm sure we'll go back again soon...only this time we'll go prepared to get wet and spend the day.

When I Grow Up...

Hannah has for a while now been telling us various things that she plans to be when she grows up. A ballet teacher, a doctor, a fire girl (one who puts out fires) etc. She also tells me from time to time to remind her when she grows up that she is going to be this or that. "Because I might reget (forget)!" So I tell her that of course I will remind her that she wants to be a doctor. Not that when the time comes to make a career choice she will be inclined to listen to me. I'm sure at that point I will be the dorky mom that doesn't have a clue about life! But none the less, I will remind her of all the things she wants to be when she grows up...less the fire girl. As noble a career that is, I don't guess I care for the idea of her going into a burning anything.

The other night we were in the car and Hannah was going through the list of things once again that she wanted to be when she grows up. She mentioned a ballet teacher, a teacher and a doctor. Then she said, "oh and I might be a jelly bean maker too!" How funny is that? A jelly bean maker! She must have had a sweet tooth that night!!

I'm Going To Go Eat Worms!

This is Hannah's mad face! The other night the electricity went out here for about an hour and a half. We didn't have anything to do so we were just playing around with the camera and sitting at the kitchen table while Hannah ate an apple. I was trying to take her picture and she was being silly and then she made her mad face. She was playing here, but she has made this face when she was not kidding around...minus the little smirk!!

Scrum-dum-delicious!

That is what Hannah says now about foods that she thinks will taste good. "Uhhmmmm, that's gonna be scrum-dum-delicious!" I think I may have said something to her once about something being scrum-diddle-ee-umpcious, but she insists that things are scrum-dum-delicious! It's so cute to hear her say it too.

Today we went to lunch with some people after church and someone told Hannah that she sure was a pretty little girl. They then asked her who did that...made her so pretty. Her response? "Uhm, mommy did!" Isn't she adorable!?!?

Oh The Boring Lives We Lead...

Well, it is quite apparent by my lack of blogging that we lead very boring lives. We really haven't been up to much the last few weeks. The rain here has all but stopped and it is very hot so we don't get out much.

Hannah said something that we thought was funny the other day. She told our cousin, Amber that she needed to make a diarama. A diarama? Where on earth did she get that idea? That was when we remembered that she had recently watched an episode of Clifford The Big Red Dog where they made diaramas for school. Now she has had this idea of making a diarama in her head ever since. So the day before yesterday I sat down with a shoe box, glue and other assorted craft supplies and we made a diarama. I don't know many 4 year olds that know what a diarama is...in fact I probably would have wondered what she was talking about had I not seen the Clifford show that that was on. I remember making them in elementary school, but don't know that I would have remembered what they were called.

Hannah Daze

The funny...and maybe not so funny things Hannah does!

My Photo
Name:
Location: Texas, United States

I am the stay at home mommy of Hannah. In addition to taking care of her, I take care of her daddy. Joey, my husband is the pastor at our church and that means that I have to be on my best behavior most of the time!! Actually I'm probably not, but I do try so so hard! Especially at church, but that's only because I'm usually sitting on the front pew!
